Kitchen Backsplash Make-over…

February 9, 2011

Here are some pictures of a backsplash I did in Aliso Viejo, Ca. The homeowners recently had new granite countertops installed and wanted to “dress it up” with a beautiful travertine backsplash..The exsisting backsplash was torn out and the drywall was completely destroyed.

Drywall practically falling off the backsplash..!?

So the first step was to replace the drywall to give a solid substrate to install the tile…

Then the tile could be installed… They chose a 3″x6″ Tumbled travertine set on a brick joint pattern, 3/4″ half round liner and 4″ tumbled travertine in two different colors on diagonal pattern. All tile came from Arizona Tile

A very warm feel to the tumbled Travertine..

The grout was  Hydroment: Color, Linen.
